The Courage to Be Heard

It doesn't matter if you speak to one, or one million. What matters is that you deliver the message." - Margaret Thatcher

Giving yourself permission to cultivate the courage to be heard, provides an opportunity to explore how you can find and use your voice through storytelling, speech, writing and art.

Being brave and sharing your voice is not always easy. There are many things that may hold you back, like fear of judgement, criticism and attack. However, you are invited to get really honest and ask yourself "What might I lose if I speak what is true?"

Yes, we live in a society where people say they believe in freedom, however they freak all the way out, when presented with an opinion outside their comfort zone. That is not your problem. You have come here to express something and your words are needed to educate, uplift, influence and impact our society in a powerful way.

As an entrepreneurial leader, strengthening your communication skills is a necessity. Don’t be quiet and afraid of others opinions about your voice when it comes to speaking out for what is right. You have a responsibility as human beings on this planet who breathe in air, drink water, and eat food to speak up for the voiceless.

Start by venturing out into places where your voice is needed most. Speak from a place that you know will make a difference in someone’s life. Write down the benefits of advocating for yourself and others.

It might seem like it's too hard or there's no point because you are one person. But just like a pebble thrown in the water, you may not see the ripples of your words and actions, however others absolutely can.

What did Harriet Tubman, Anne Frank, Maya Angelou, Mother Teresa, and Susan B. Anthony have to gain by keeping quiet? Nothing. And the same applies to you.

In the comment section, please share what would you most like to say if there would be no repercussions?
